Plant-Rich Diet Task Force Position Papers
Greetings from the Plant Rich Diet Task Force under the Environmental Sustainability Rotary Action Group (ESRAG)!

Join us for the first annual Plant Rich Diet Challenge! Save the planet while enjoying delicious food and improving your health in the process!

We welcome you to visit the Plant-Rich Diet Task Force's 3D virtual reality booth HERE. Enjoy walking around and learning about the importance of a plant-rich diet for planetary and human health. Simply log-in using an email address and password. Once in the booth, look for the wall-hanging titled "How to Walk Around Our Room." You can click and drag the room or use arrow keys to move around. You can click on any wall-hanging to bring up a menu with three options: Zoom-In (to read the resource close-up), Link (to link through to a website or video associated with the resource) or Cancel. If you Zoom-In, click outside of the zoomed image to exit the image. To visit the 3D booths of other ESRAG Task Forces with initiatives to protect our planet, click on the "EXIT" door in the booth and you'll be transported into the ESRAG virtual reality convention hall. You can also access the ESRAG convention hall HERE.

When we choose plant-rich diets, we not only take a huge bite out of greenhouse gas emissions, we also reduce deforestation, species loss, soil degradation, water pollution and depletion. We even address the growing problems of antibiotic resistance and zoonotic pathogens.

Plant rich diets are very effective at preventing and sometimes even reversing obesity, high blood pressure, heart disease and type 2 diabetes, while strengthening our immune system.

Plant-rich means any dietary pattern that consists mostly of vegetables, fruits, legumes, whole grains, nuts, seeds, herbs and spices.

Here’s your challenge: Starting April 22, 2023, begin incorporating more plant foods into your diet and sustain the change for 15 days! Make small changes or jump in 100%. Whatever works for you. Go to Plant Rich Diet - ESRAG - Environmental Sustainability Rotary Action Group to get started.

If you’re on medication for chronic illness, work with your doctor to adjust medications, hopefully for the better!

Invite your family, coworkers, fellow Rotarians, and even your whole Rotary Club to join you!

Record your experience by using the survey found at Plant Rich Diet - ESRAG - Environmental Sustainability Rotary Action Group.

Rotarians! Lets LEAD the change we want to see in the world! In Africa, Europe, Asia, Oceania and the Americas!

Thank you for joining this journey toward Healthy People, Healthy Planet!

The Plant-Rich Diet Task Force is an international group of Rotarians dedicated to inspiring fellow Rotarians and the public to adopt plant-rich diets as a powerful and urgent personal action to reduce our carbon footprint, promote global environmental sustainability, improve human health and forge a path of equity for all earthly beings.

This Task Force resides under the Environmental Sustainability Rotary Action Group and operates in accordance with Rotary International policy, but is not an agency of, or controlled by, Rotary International.
